Tradisional Ip Man Wing Chun (TIMWC) Indonesia ran a Wing Chun Seminar in Pontianak, on Sunday 25 January 2015. This is the first Ip Man Wing Chun seminar ever held in Pontianak, with 50 participants from Pontianak, Sambas, Singkawang, and other surrounding cities in West Kalimantan.
The seminar had a tight schedule, starting from the history and philosophy of Ip Man Wing Chun, basic punches, blocks, kicks and others. The seminar was also coloured by the curiosity and questions from participants throughout the seminar.
With the completion of this seminar, we wish that Ip Man Wing Chun enthusiasts in Pontianak can learn and practice the authentic Ip Man Wing Chun, and spread it to anyone in Kalimantan without discriminating at social status, race, religion, or wealth.
“This seminar was out of the ordinary. Participants were very enthusiast and actively participating in the seminar, that I didn’t realise that it was already five hours of seminar.” said Sifu Martin Kusuma at the end of the seminar.
